Dorothy was born August 24, 1918, in Minneapolis to Gustav & Emma (Johanson) Nordstrom. Dorothy married Carl Koester on October 24, 1936 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Long Prairie. They farmed for 42 years before retiring in 1978. Dorothy always had a big garden, and sold at farmers markets for many years. She loved to spring clean her house and rake her lawn. Dorothy had a love for flowers, cooking for people and enjoyed visiting with family and friends. She was an avid reader and Donald Trump fan. Dorothy was always upbeat and loved to tease people. Her friends and family will fondly remember her for always playing cards with them; anytime of the day or night and the letters she wrote. She loved checking the mail; it was always like Christmas when she received a letter.
Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents; husband Carl in 2004, siblings: Margaret, Inez, Alice, Eva, Evelyn, Irene, Marie, Mildred, Einar, Donald, Harold and three great grandchildren.
Dorothy is survived by children: Edmund (Gloria) Koester of Oakdale and Jane (Donald) Zetah of Brainerd; 14 grandchildren and many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
