Doris was born in Deer Creek, September 2, 1923, to Peter & Sarah (Anderson) Harthan. She attended school in Deer Creek graduating in 1941. On December 9, 1943, Doris married Lawrence Cook. In 1946, Doris and her husband purchased the Lyman Store. In 1956, they sold the building and moved to Clarissa. In 1970, Doris started working at the Clarissa School and retired from there in 1988.
Doris enjoyed gardening, crocheting, embroidery and camping with friends. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Clarissa Senior Citizens Center and the Homemakers.
Doris is preceded in death by her parents; husband Lawrence in 1991; 4 brothers and 3 sisters.
Left to mourn Doris are her sons: Larry (Pam) Cook and Robert (Barbara) Cook; 6 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, 1 great great granddaughter and 2 sisters.
