Robert Motl, 87 of Browerville died Saturday August 18, 2018 at the Lakewood Health System in Staples.
Bob was born May 30, 1931 on the family farm in Moran Township to Ernest & Frances (Lenk) Motl. He attended school in Clarissa, graduating in 1949. Bob joined the U.S. Army in December 1952 and was discharged in November 1954. After returning to Moran he worked at the Land O Lakes Milk Plant in Browerville for thirteen years, then joined his dad working on the farm. He married Roselyn Lisson September 5, 1955 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Browerville. Bob was a life-long farmer and his farm was honored as a “Century Farm”.
Bob served on many boards throughout his life, he was a 4-H leader for eleven years and was a member of the Knights of Columbus; he enjoyed western and old-time music, hunting, fishing, playing cards and going to the casino. He especially liked to watch the grand kids play sports.
Bob is survived by his wife, Rosie, son, Bruce (Helen) Motl, daughter-in-law, Kim Harff, 8 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, brother, Richard (Katherine) Motl and niece, Jennifer (Jason) Sowers.
He is preceded in death by his parents Ernest and Frances, son, Michael.
