Jay was born September 22, 1951 at Long Prairie Memorial Hospital to Sylvester and Christine (Loegering) Eggerth. Growing up he attended country school. Jay met Karen Carlson at a dance hall and were married on October 23, 1971. Together they have three wonderful children including Scott, Stacy and Shannon. He worked at Harley Rock Picker in Clarissa for 20 years and Bruce Dahlman construction, operating heavy equipment and Morrison County Solid Waste until he retired. Jay loved spending time with his grandchildren. He enjoyed Tuesday coffee with the guys, visiting during Saturday morning roll call at the Legion, 4-wheeling, snowmobiling, hunting (coyotes and pheasants), fishing and watching old T.V shows like “Bonanza”. Jay was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Browerville.
Jay is survived by his wife of 46 years, Karen, son, Scott (Tina) Eggerth, daughters, Stacy (Jeff) Salo, Shannon Eggerth, siblings, Larry (Bev) Eggerth, Marilyn Steinert, Karen (Larry) Leighton and eight grandchildren; father & mother-in-law Harry & Florence Carlson of Browerville.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Sylvester and Christine and sister Barbara Ann Mikel.
