George Buhl, 90, of Browerville, passed away on February 9, 2019. Funeral services for George will be held on Wednesday, February 13, 2019, 11:00 a.m., at Christ the King Catholic Church in Browerville with Fr. Mitchell Bechtold officiating. Friends may call on Tuesday, February 12, 2019, 4:00 – 8:00 p.m., at the Iten Funeral Home in Browerville and one hour prior to the service at the church. Parish prayers will be held at 3:45 with a KC/ Christian Mother’s Rosary at 7:30 p.m. Interment will be held at Christ the King Catholic Cemetery, Browerville.
George was born February 26, 1928, in Hartford Township, Todd County, to William & Mary (Gonsior) Buhl. He attended District 34 Country School and St. Joseph’s Catholic School through the 8th grade. George worked various farm jobs, drove milk truck and worked at Central Bi Products for 38 years before retiring in 1990.
George was baptized, confirmed and married at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Browerville. On April 27, 1949 he married Genevieve Berczyk. He was a member of the church all his life and ushered for over 40 years; spending many years serving on the parish council. He was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus, Browerville Fire Department for 20 years, served on the ambulance crew for many years and for twelve years was a member of the Browerville City Council.
George spent his retirement fishing, taking care of his garden and yard and spending time with his family.
George is preceded in death by his parents; brother Hank Buhl, sister Mary Summ and granddaughter Julie Biermaier.
George is survived by his wife of 70 years Gen; children: Sherry (Ron) Biermaier, Gerry (Jo) Buhl, Sandi (Tom) Senske, Chuck (Jane) Buhl; grandchildren: Mark, Matt, Craig, Katie, Annie, Rachel, Laura, Jennie, Christopher; 17 great grandchildren and sisters: Angie Colling, Sophie Lamusga and Delores Lamusga.
