Dale Foote, 90, of Clarissa, passed away on November 13, 2018, at the Central Todd County Care Center. Funeral services for Dale were held on Saturday, 11:00 a.m., at Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church in Clarissa with Pastor Del Moen officiating. Interment was held at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Clarissa.
Dale was born January 7, 1928, in Bigelow, Minnesota to Leslie and Jennie (DeKok) Foote. Raised on the family farm, Dale attended school in Brewster until the age of 18 when he enlisted in the U.S. Army. He was discharged in July of 1947; earning a World War II Victory Medal. Upon returning home, he worked with his dad on the family farm and on February 27, 1949, he married Arlene Baumgard in Brewster, Minnesota. In 1954 Dale and his family moved to a farm they bought near Clarissa. They worked on the farm until they sold it in 1977 and moved into Clarissa. Dale and Arlene co-owned and operated the Coast to Coast Hardware Store for several years, and then Dale drove a fuel oil truck for Moen’s until he retired. In retirement he helped Jerry Jacobson out at the vet clinic.
Dale served on the school board for over twenty-five years, many of which as the chairman of the board. He enjoyed farming, bowling, playing cards, visiting with friends and neighbors, watching the Twins, and especially spending time with family.
Dale is survived by his children: Ronald (Bev) Foote of Browerville, Robert Foote of Clarissa, Richard (Sonia) Foote of Salida, Colorado, Roxanne (Stuart) Friese of Perham, Rebecca (Mark) Ciampone of Lino Lakes, 11 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren.
Dale is preceded in death by his parents, Leslie and Jennie; wife, Arlene; sister Lois Monson and brother Wyman Foote.
